Shipping Information

Here at The Flavored Herb, we typically ship within 1-2 business days of receiving your order.

For example, if you place your order on a Monday, it will ship before Thursday.

If you place your order on the weekend, Saturday or Sunday (when we do not ship), it is the same as placing your order on the following Monday. That's the first day that we see your order.


Our Shipping & Customer Service Hours of Operation are Monday thru Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm PST.


General:

  • Due to material regulations, we currently only ship through UPS. Other options are available upon request.
  • When we ship your package our system auto-generates an email with your tracking number. You can also see your tracking number when you log into your account.
  • It is your responsibility to make sure that your local UPS facility is not trying to contact you about your package.


RUSH ORDERS:

ATTENTION ** First-Time Customers ** Multiple Transaction Declines ** Your RUSH ORDERS (Listed below) May be held in our system for further authorization. Please contact Customer Service (ask for billing) to confirm order has cleared.

  • Next Day Air: Cut-off time for Next Day Air orders (to arrive to customer next business day) is 1:00pm (PST).
  • 2nd Day Air: Cut-off time for 2nd Day Air orders (to arrive to customer 2nd business day) is1:00pm (PST).
  • UPS Next Day, 2nd Day Air, and 3-Day Select shipments which have ** or *** items (Hazmat) are NOT guaranteed (as per UPS), and may be delayed. UPS will NOT REFUND shipping cost if 'Hazmat' shipments do not arrive on time, therefore neither can we.
  • Next Day Air shipments placed on Friday (before 1:00pm) that need Saturday Delivery, please add the $16.00 Saturday delivery fee to your cart by clicking here. Otherwise, your order will arrive the following business day (Monday). You may also do this for UPS 2nd day orders placed on a Thursday (To select areas).
  • UPS Next Day2nd Day Air, and 3-Day SelectUPS Express & UPS Express Saver placed after 1:00pm (PST) will not ship until the following Business Day (including Fridays).
  • UPS cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes. Please ship to a standard address or call us with other arrangements.

HazMat (**) Items:

  • Some of our products are defined by IATA (International Air Transport Association) / DOT (Department of Transportation) as Dangerous Goods, also known as 'Hazardous Materials' (HazMat) due to their Flammability (based on flashpoint), Environmental Hazard (Marine Pollutants, etc), or Toxicity (at concentration). The products that we sell which are subject to HazMat Fees are marked with ** at the end of their name as well as marked in the description with a symbol. In checkout you will see a notice on any items that will cause a HazMat fee to be incurred. Please note the exceptions to the HazMat Fee below:
  • When shipped using Ground methods (only available to Domestic customers), HazMat Fees will not apply.
  • When ordering individual bottle sizes below 30ml (1 fl. oz.) HazMat Fees will not apply.

 

UPS charges the Hazardous Shipping Fees

Rates are between $90.00/package and $142.00/package

We have no control over the amount, nor are we adding to their fees. These HazMat fees will only apply to orders shipping by Air or Internationally that have ** or *** in the product name. Flammable Liquids (Class 3) fall under the category of 'Accessible Dangerous Goods' (ADG) according to both charts. We are sorry for any inconveniences this may cause, and if you have any questions/concerns regarding this, we urge you to reach out to UPS, as we were not given any explanations.

Need a Quote?

When our web store's shopping cart calculates the order to be over a certain weight, our system is unable to calculate the shipping cost.

In this case the only shipping options you will see are as follows:

  • Shipping charge will be added to order $0.00 (USD)
  • Freight Pick up at our warehouse $0.00 (USD)
  • Pick up at our warehouse $0.00 (USD)

(This means we will need to email you a quote. You will need to place an order, select the shipping option Pick up in our warehouse and in the order notes ask for a shipping quote)

International (Customers shipping orders outside the United States):

Please note our International Commercial Terms (INCO) are: FCA

Free Carrier (FCA) terms mean that we (the Seller) will prepare your shipment for any mode of transportation. Under FCA Terms, the facility from which we ship (170 Technology Circle) is defined as the 'Point of Departure.' After shipment is delivered to buyer's carrier, the buyer (customer) assumes responsibility for the package. As the Seller of the product, we are responsible for preparing the shipment to clear for export (reliant on correct information provided by customer). Buyer (Customer) is responsible for clearing goods for import.

UPS We do offer UPS hazmat shipping (IDG Service) to countries that fall under the UPS IDG service Map.

**INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMS**



Custom regulations, Duty tax, Custom fees and Quarantine charges can be different for every country.

You may or may not have owe Custom fees, Duty tax and Quarantine charges.
However if customs requests payment for Custom fees,
Duty tax and/or Quarantine charges, you will be required to complete payment to clear the shipment.
We recommend checking with your local post office or customs office about the procedures in your country.


The Perfumer's Apprentice & Flavor Apprentice will not be held financially responsible for your order, if it is returned, destroyed, or confiscated by customs. You are agreeing to pay any fees owed during the customs clearance process. We do not accept returns and will not issue refunds.

By clicking check out you are agreeing that you have been advised of the shipping conditions, and if the shipment/package can not clear customs, you are agreeing to pay all return fee(s) that the courier charge us.

If you are unable to clear customs, we will have to abandon your shipment.
We do not offer any kind of refund for abandoned shipments.

In the case where abandonment isn't available, we will have to have your shipment returned to us. We will then contact you with the owed return fees



Due to import restrictions the following countries have import problems

Argentina Customers
We have had problems shipping to Individuals in Argentina. There is a country restriction for our product type (Food flavoring) that restricts the amount you are allowed to receive to 3 items per package, five times out of the calendar year.

If you own a business and would like to apply for a permit through INAL you may pass the individual shipping rule of only 3 items per package. 


Belarus Customers

We have had a lot of problems shipping to Belarus. Most packages get stuck in customs.

At this time we are not shipping there directly.

We recommend using a forwarder.



China Customers
We have had a few problems recently with China customs.
They have held packages and never cleared them and wouldn't return them back to sender.
We have also been told by UPS that China customs does not accept shipments of liquid.

Before placing an order, please contact your local customs office about the restrictions for your area.
We recommend using a forwarder.

Egypt Customers
We have had a few problems recently with UPS Egypt customs.
They have held packages for long periods of time and requested high customs fees and/or duty tax/broker fees.

We haven't had any problems so far with DHL.
We recommend trying either of those and always contact your local customs office and seeing what paperwork you might need.


Indonesia Customers
We are having problems with our orders clearing customs, a lot of documents are pre-approval is needed.
Please email us if you have any questions.


Italy Customers
Italian customs is requiring that customers importing flavors have certain Health permits.
We recommend that Italian customers check with their local post office or customs office for any paperwork they might need and to make sure that they will receive their packages with no problem. For more questions, please contact us. 


Mexico Customers
We can not ship orders to Mexico via UPS.

We've had issues with our orders being rejected by UPS customs and we do not have a Broker in Mexico.


Russia Customers
We unfortunately have been having problems shipping products to Russia.
Russia has put a ban on anything food related being shipped into Russia, including our Flavoring and many other products.

We recommend using a forwarder.

Spain Customers
We unfortunately have been having problems shipping to Spain.
Our products can only be purchased by a company not Individuals as per Spain customs regulations.
Individuals cannot import food products. These shipments will be refused entry and abandoned, destroyed or returned to the country of export. Refused shipments may be subject to return charge

Turkey Customers
We are having problems with our orders clearing customs due to customers needing a lot of paperwork and to apply for registration.
